Velizar Sadovski, born on 15 October 1972, has been working at the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 1997 and at its Institute for Iranian Studies since the foundation of the Institute in 2003. His main fields of research are Old Iranian Philology, Indo-Iranian Linguistics and Indo-European Studies. He finished his master and doctorate studies summa cum laude at the University of Vienna, at which he has been teaching since 2001. From 01.01.2009 to 31.10.2011, he was Deputy Director of the Institute of Iranian Studies. Since May 2010, he is also Universitätsdozent (Assoc. Professor) for Indo-European Studies.
